Updates, updates and more updates!
I know I’ve been missing in action for the longest time ever!
Many of you ask me why no updates on your blog? My reply was lazy, no time etc. :P
I have lots to updates…Isaac….oh Isaac…
He is already 9months and 4days old today. Time flies or what?
Ooops my last post was 2months ago…previously I blog about Isaac’s progress. About 1 month after that, he was doing so many things that I hope I can record all of them down.
From crawling to sitting up by himself to pulling himself up and standing up and walking to mumbling words! Yes, guess what is Isaac’s first word? MA-MA…..after all the sacrifices it’s really worth all the effort! Whenever he sees me he will call me MA-MA.
He has 4 teeth now 2 at the bottom and 2 big teeth on top and has been drooling a lot!
He started walking at 8months plus and I have a strong feeling he might walk independently soon?
At 9months, he already can master the Walking Toy (from Fisher Price). Yesterday night he was holding on the toy and cruising around the living hall. I remember my MIL gave this toy to Naomi during Christmas and she was struggling with the toy (That time she was about 9months plus also). Besides, using the walker to walk, Isaac is able to ride on it, he can use his leg to move and change direction! Is he talented or what?! Haha…
I still don’t know what his current weight is as we’re schedule for a 2nd prevanar jab end of this month only. Overall he is doing pretty okay and he’s still on mummy’s milk. I did introduce him to formula and he likes it as well. For solid, he’s eating very well and can eat quite a big bowl of porridge. I’ve started to give him a lot of solids such as cereals, carrots, potatoes, fish, chicken, pork, bread, oats, apples, pears, sweet potatoes, avocados, kiwi and etc. He’s quite adventurous when comes to food as he is willing to try anything and everything that is edible.
He still wakes up in the middle of the night for milk (a.k.a confort sucking). I still let him sleep by himself on his cot every night but sometimes when he’s awake he will stand up on his cot and call onto me. Tjun Aun prefers him to sleep in the middle (same bed as us) as he’s scared that he might climb over and fall from his cot (like what had happen to Naomi – before she turns the big 1). Obviously, Isaac prefers to sleep with us. He will sleep longer when he shares the bed with us compare to the sleep on his cot. Stay tune...more updates coming up...

Isaac @7months
No eggs please!
This is a back dated post. This incident happened 2 weeks ago and it was so scary.
I was suppose to work till 7:30 that day and I received a frantic phone call at 6pm from Alice, my babysitter. She asked me to come over to her house asap as Isaac was sick as in seriously sick. She started off by telling me Isaac was having difficulties in breathing and has lots of cold sweat. Besides that, his body was red and swollen. My hands were shaking already that time. The first thing I asked her was “What did you feed him just now? Anything new?” Her reply was “Egg” I was horrified and told her no eggs for babies before 1 year old! As the chances of developing allergy is very high.
She said she took Isaac to the 24hours clinic and the doctor told her to send Isaac to the hospital straight away. I asked my babysitter to take him to the hospital first and will meet them there.
I called Dr Tan on his handphone and he told me has night clinic that day and he will be coming in at 7pm. By the time I reach hospital, the time was already 6:40pm (cause of the traffic jam at the industrial zone area). When I reach hospital, I saw Isaac’s face was so white and pale and he was very very very weak. I’ve never seen him that weak before and his eyes were like rolling upwards and wanted to fell asleep. My babysitter kept talking and playing with him so that he doesn’t fall to deep sleep.
We couldn’t wait any longer so we took him to the emergency instead. The nurse was not helpful at all and they kept saying nothing wrong with him (That time his breathing was back to normal, no more swollen body but he look very very pale and weak).
After some persuasions from us they finally his temperature and oxygen level and told us everything looks normal. I was a bit relieved that time but I just want the doctor to confirm it.
Dr Tan finally came at 7pm sharp! He said he was driving like an F1 driver to reach the hospital as fast as he could. When he saw Isaac, he straight away carries him and kisses him while we make ourselves inside his workplace. He said this is definitely allergy reactions already and ask us not to worry too much. By taking medications Isaac should be fine and no need for any admission. Thank God! :)
Back home, feeding Isaac’s medicine was “not so easy” task as I need to force the medicine down his throat. Less than 1 hour, he became to look ‘normal’ again.
According to Alice, his body reacts very fast to the egg. It was like less than 10seconds, his body started to react and he was having difficulties in breathing for about 20minutes. Alice told me she was so panicked and quickly drove him to the nearby clinic already.

Isaac @6months
Weight: 9.1kg
Height: 70cm
Head circumference: 45cm (I think or was it 42?)
Teeth: 2! Yay
I've started to feed him rice cereal when he's 5 1/2 months old. Besides rice cereal I tried Rusk biscuits+EBM, apple & pear puree. Compare to Naomi, Isaac is not that 'open' about food. Well, no worries for me as I guess every child is unique and I hope he will be willing to try and experiment with variety of food one day. I still breastfeed him and he will take about 6-7oz of EMB. I express my milk 2 times during office hours and will feed him direct when I'm at home with him. He still wakes up in the middle of the night for feeding.
I'm not sure whether it was his teething that gave him problem in eating solids but he has been cranky and refuse for the last 1 week. Finally, we saw 2 teeth on his bottom gums. Sometimes, he will 'bite' when I direct feed him and I need to control my expression cause if I over-react he will laugh (as though I'm encouraging him). But most of the time, I will scold him and ask him not to do it again.
As for his motor development. He's able to sit without support now, roll over both side and able to crawl from one end to the other end using his stomach.
We took Isaac for his first swimming experience 2 weeks ago and he's loving the experience!
